Abstract :
This column contributes to the argument about making research data publicly available. The author argues that, while having the data released is highly desirable, research results often bring value to the community even without the accompanied data. He further suggests a middle-ground solution in which research data would be preserved without being released for the purpose of debuggability of research results.
