Abstract :
Shanghai has been experiencing an accelerated fast development of industrialization and urbanization since 2001. Its adjustment of industrial structure has made an impact on its energy consumption. By using the Model of Structure Evolution & Energy Consumption and the Model of Structure Evolution & unit consumption of energy, the paper analyzes the evolution of industrial structure and energy consumption in Shanghai after 2001, and compares conditions after 2001 with those from 2001 to 2005. On the basis of that analysis and comparison, the paper put forward some suggestions on how to combine industrial adjustment with energy consumption to reduce Shanghai´s energy consumption per unit GDP, guaranteeing Shanghai´s economic development at the same time.
