Abstract :
Indoor optical wireless communications systems are susceptible to severe shadowing and have a dead zone caused by limited coverage. In order to solve the above problems, we propose an infrared and radio hybrid wireless communication system. Numerical results conclude that packet error rate and throughput performances can be much improved by using the hybrid wireless communication system without suffering from the effect of shadowing and dead zones.
