Abstract :
This paper deals with the analysis of impedance frequency-dependent characteristics of wide-slot printed antennas. The effect of various feeds on the impedance of printed slots and the improvement to match feed line and printed slots are studied using the finite-difference time-domain method. A novel C-band wide-slot printed antenna with a ridge has been designed based on the analysis. The 10 dB return loss bandwidth of the antenna is approximate 25%. Very good agreement between experiment and theory was achieved.
