Abstract
The Internet (IP: Internet Protocol) should affect distance learning. Currently, the Internet is expected to become the infrastructure for it. In this study we constructed and analyzed an experimental distance learning system on the Internet, and we describe some characteristics of distance learning using the Internet. Specifically, in addition to traditional multimedia communication applications such as video and audio, we identify learning tools useful and important for student´s learning and understanding. We analyze the characteristics of several methods of Internet communication, such as e-mail, IRC, and World Wide Web, and we implemented Web tools for distance learning
