Abstract
An approximate simulation analysis of a monomode digital lightwave system is presented. A dynamic single mode (DSM) laser diode model suitable for use with a SPICE 2 circuit analysis program is used in conjunction with a simple model for monomode fiber for an approximate analysis of a long-haul lightwave system. The nonzero spectrum width and chirping of the laser diode are taken into account. Results are in good agreement with those obtained by other authors
