Abstract :
A perturbative approach to calculating the diffraction of an electromagnetic wave of an arbitrary incidence angle and polarization by an infinite wedge of arbitrary face impedances is presented. The method is based on a systematic expansion of the solution in powers of a suitably chosen parameter that tends to zero with the decreasing wedge opening angle. The lowest order term of the expansion series reproduces exactly solutions involving: (a) arbitrary incidence angle and an impedance half plane; and (b) normal incidence and an impedance wedge of an arbitrary opening. Numerical results are presented for the diffraction matrix obtained with the first term of the expansion series for some representative values of face impedances, incidence angles, and wedge opening angles.<>
