Abstract
Most of the existing online music stores offer only single quality of music at a certain bitrate. The choice available to their customers, especially music hobbyists and audiophiles, is thus limited. A solution to this problem is proposed in this paper by developing a multi-quality audio managing system which is able to provide convenient music maintenance at the server and at the same time offer music at different bitrates to meet variable demands from the customers. Based on the MPEG-4 scalable lossless coding (SLS) audio codec, the SDK of this managing system is already deployed by Asiapsilas largest online mobile music company Soundbuzz.
