Abstract
This paper focuses on the compression of complex baseband samples between baseband units and radio subsystems, such as LTE-A with distributed architecture. Considering the constraints of wireless system in signal delay and hardware implementation, we propose a modified AGC algorithm module with low-latency and low-complexity, which significantly lowers the data rate while maintaining an acceptable distortion. The final compression solution with the proposed algorithm can achieve about 30% compression ratio, only with EVM close to 2% and delay no more than 18 clock cycle (CLK), which has been illustrated by the theoretical analysis and simulation.
