Abstract :
The single-mode silicon optical switch with T-shape SiO/sub 2/ waveguide as a control gate is studied by using the electromagnetic field computer simulation. It has been shown that the signal light (/spl lambda/=1.55 /spl mu/m) is attenuated more than 36 dB by the illumination of /spl lambda/=0.85 /spl mu/m control light. It has been shown that the proposed optical switch is possible to work.
