Abstract :
The Taiwan Academic Network (TANet) has built an experimental ATM network as a test bed of many multimedia applications such as distance learning. Before the beginning of a distance-learning course, the network manager has to issue a batch of commands to all ATM switches located on the path of the traffic flow to establish virtual paths and assign them an appropriate amount of bandwidth. In the paper, a browser-based management system is designed and implemented, according to the requirements of distance learning over ATM networks, to control remotely ATM switches
