Abstract :
This paper considers the estimation scenario where an original image has undergone blurring, noise corruption and compression. The authors consider these unwanted effects jointly in the estimation formalism they propose. The contribution of the paper aims to address the joint coding/decoding formulation, involving a priori assumptions on the solution and knowledge of the imaging systems to account for effects due to acquisition noise and compression noise. Most of the authors´ construction is based on well-known techniques drawn from a variety of areas in modern signal processing, including optimization theory, wavelet decomposition, optimal bit allocation, inverse problem and bounded noise assumption
