Abstract
Within large organisations, public bodies or groups of either, shared services are commonly set-up for business functions such as Finance, HR and IT. Whilst they offer substantial benefits it is less common to find Asset Management delivered as a shared service. This paper takes the provision of public sector property and facilities asset management as a shared service as its topic, using a case study from Southwest One. The contribution that Shared Services can make to improved asset management is then discussed with reference to PAS 55:2008 [1].
