Abstract
The LMS (least mean square) and conjugate-gradient window (CGW) algorithms are considered for use in digital equalizers. The equalizer with implementation of the CGW algorithm is shown to require more computation, but the convergence is faster and the equalizer can be used in worse conditions. The simulation results are encouraging. The implementation of the CGW method for multilevel quadrature modulation is noted
