Abstract :
A novel two-stage low frequency electronic ballast circuit is proposed in this paper. This circuit achieves high power factor and acoustic resonance free with simpler, cheaper, and more reliable topology. Simulation results and experimental results obtained from a laboratory prototype for a 70 W metal halide lamp are shown to verify the validity of the proposed ballast.
