Abstract :
The degradation of quinoline in aqueous solution by the radiation of low-pressure quartz mercury light which could emit the light of 185 nm and 254 nm and the influence factors were studied. It showed that quinoline could be degraded effectively by this process. In the irradiation lights of the two main wavelengths, 185 nm was the main effective one to degrade the substrate. The degradation rate became faster with the increasing of the temperature and the electric power of the mercury light. O2 played an important role in the degradation progress. However, the initial pH of the solution did not impact the degradation rate obviously.
