Abstract
In the last years it was found that the most of the electricity transport networks in the world are more and more loaded. This is due to increased electricity consumption and economic, political and ecological difficulties encountered in the construction of new transmission lines and/or power plants. A possible solution to solve these problems is provided by the use of FACTS (Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems) equipment in the electric installations. The paper presents the main aspects of FACTS equipment, insisting on the electronically controlled phase shifter transformer (PST). The results of numerical simulation for a 400 kV network, equipped with a phase shifter transformer, respectively the realization of an electronic command and control phase shifter transformer also is presented.
