Abstract
An adaptive loss minimization controller (ALMC) is proposed for interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor drives for the first time. The loss minimization process is very fast and the drive performance is very smooth under the ALMC scheme which is implemented by using a TMS320C31 DSP. Excellent experimental results validate the ability of the proposed ALMC to minimize the total drive losses precisely
