Abstract
Distributed Video Coding (DVC) moves the encoder of traditional video coding computational complexity to decoder, while the heavy computational complexity of the mode decision (MD) algorithm in H.264/AVC video coding became the transfer goal. In the early proposed DVC paradigm never try to transfer MD, therefore, in this paper the proposed first successful complete shifts MD algorithm from encoder to decoder. In the experimental results, the proposed encoder complexity is compared to H.264/AVC intra frame encoding. But the performance is higher than state-of-the-art DVC (DISCOVER) codec, up to 4 to 5 dB. And the proposed decoder complexity lower than the DISCOVER over hundredfold.
