Abstract :
In this paper we tackle FDDI performance in a local area single-network environment from a network management perspective. We introduce the performance issues in an industrial framework, namely considering the FDDI protocol basis and performance parameters for the quality-of-service (QoS). A performance study compares the results of analytical and simulation models, along with validation tests. A methodological approach is also proposed based on these models to provide a support for network management
