  • Abstract
This paper presents a new method of designing nonlinear power system stabilizer for improving dynamic and transient stability of power systems. In this method the nonlinear model of synchronous generators has been used. This model is linearized by utilizing the global input output linearisation method. The linearized model is controlled by using sliding mode technique. The simulation result of one machine connected to infinite bus is also shown
