Abstract
Established implantable drug delivery systems consist of a constant pressure reservoir and mostly passive flow control devices. The most important requirements are constant flow rate, low leakage rate, high live time and low energy consumption. We developed different microvalves for the implementation in a new generation of active control systems. Based on the found results we report on a new approach of integrating several microfluidic components in a single device and based on this present a novel concept for a multistable microvalve.
