Abstract :
SVC has been widely used in both transmission and distribution network as it can provide regulation measures for grid security, stability, efficient and flexible means of operational control. There is less research on the impacts of the protection caused by SVC accessing network at present, and lack of the concrete analysis about the impacts of SVC on the line protection. Based on the impedance characteristics of SVC and the basic principle of fault component directional protection, the variation of the back side equivalent impedance as fault in front and rear protection when the SVC access network has been analyzed, the relation between maximum sensitivity angle of fault component directional protection and compensation ratio of SVC has been proposed, a computation basis for quantitative assessment the impact of the fault component directional protection has also been presented for the actual work.
