  • Abstract
The use of Distributed Generation in distribution systems has many benefits but this systems initially has been built for simple one-way power delivery, interconnecting small generators requires new thinking and new methods for operating the network with new challenges. Small-scale generators located on the distribution level are generally referred to as distributed generation (DG). Notable among these challenges is the DG effects can have on overcurrent protection (OCP). In the previous studies completely mitigated the fuse misoperation and nuisance fuse blowing issues, but the fuse fatigue issues on the radial test feeder are not completely eliminated. Because fuse fatigue occurrence is an unavoidable event with presence of DGs, that\´s supposed to find an approach to minimize the OCP schemes change or determination size of DGs in radial feeders considering fuse fatigue issues. In this paper, "Imperiled Fuses" are introduced with a new algorithm and revisory decisions are presented. Then maximum size ofDG for installation at four specified locations is determined. The new approach is by using the IEEE 34 node radial test feeder. That was simulated in DIgSILENT Powerfactory version 14.520.
