Abstract :
Virtual reality technologies enable the creation of environments for the assessment and training of motor deficits using enhanced feedback. This paper reports the development of a virtual reality environment applied toelectromyographic (EMG) biofeedbaclifor motor rehabilitation. It was modeled a 3D arm controlled by the EMG signals from brachial biceps muscle. The visual feedback was provided for user when the proposed goal was achieved. The system presented good performance by the evaluation of healthy subjects and physiotherapists. The project has excellent perspective to be applied to motor recovery for patients with different impairments.
