Abstract :
This paper studies interconnection and damping assignment (IDA-PBC) based switching control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). First, a preliminary controller is designed by using IDA-PBC method. Then two different damping matrices are assigned and a tracking-error-driven switching law is proposed to improve the transient performance. The main benefits of the proposed switching control are that it has a clear physical interpretation and the parameters are very easy to tune to get good performance. The simulation results show that the proposed switching scheme of the damping matrix can overcome the limitations of a single IDA-PBC based controller and leads to better transient performance.
