Abstract :
Mobile learning (m-learning) can be considered as an intersection of e-learning and mobile computing. From the perspective of m-learning, it is important to deliver dynamic instant learning content in an efficient way anytime and anywhere. An m-learning system should present optimal personalized content to the mobile user and encourage collaborative learning. The purpose of this paper is to devise a functional architecture that supports the above m-learning objectives using agent technology and improves the quality of teaching and learning processes. This architecture gives users the ability to collect, analyze, distribute and use e-learning contents from multiple knowledge sources. The architecture is able to adjust the m-learning content based on the progress of the participants. The agent technology is particularly suitable for developing m-learning systems because it supports intelligent and distributed storage, allows an optimal personalized m-learning environment, and enhances modularity, reusability, flexibility and reliability.
