Abstract :
In past few years, routing has attracted overwhelming attention in the research of Ad hoc networks. The path built by single-path on-demand routing protocols is often disconnected, and this will trigger reconstructing routes and result in lager end-to-end delay. Split Multipath Routing(SMR) algorithm is better suitable than the single path protocol in Ad hoc networks, but shows higher routing load due to more control packets in the process of building multiple routes. The optimization of SMR protocol in Ad hoc networks is proposed in this paper, which decreases the number of control packets. The DSR and SMR protocols are compared with the optimization protocol under NS-2 simulator in routing load, packet delivery and average end-to-end delay. The results show that the performance of the optimization protocol is better than DSR and SMR.
