Abstract
Wireless Mesh Network has been an important architecture for data transmission which is affected by various network parameters. For the Quality of Service (QoS) guaranteeing of real-time stream, resource reservation approaches have been well studied. This paper investigates the relation between environment parameters and transmission performance, based on which a quantized threshold is introduced to describe this performance via theory analysis and simulation work. QoS can be guaranteed if the sending rate of surrounding nodes is below the threshold. Otherwise, network performance will degrade with congestion happening, when the sending rate of surrounding nodes is higher than the threshold. An adaptive resource reservation algorithm is proposed in this paper. By measuring network congestion status online, adjusting function is given which can update the threshold adaptively and thus QoS can be ensured. The effectiveness of proposed approach is verified through simulation work.
