Abstract :
The pilot-vehicle interface (PVI) technical report of the FAA Technical Center´s Digital System´s Validation Handbook, Volume II (DOT/FAA/CT-88/10), is summarized. The report identifies issues dealing with the PVI and their impact on flight safety. The report examines cockpit standards, technology, and human factors for commercial cockpits. In addition, reviews of the literature, interviews with experts in the field, and accident and incident reports are reviewed and summarized
