Abstract :
The ICEAA - IEEE APWC - EEIS conferences have established the ICEAA - IEEE APWC - EEIS Award to recognize the young scientist who has authored and orally presented the best ICEAA or IEEE APWC or EEIS paper at the ICEAA - IEEE APWC - EEIS 2012 joint conferences in terms of content and impact on Electromagnetics. The people eligible for this award were young scientists aged not more than thirty-six as of June 8, 2012, who have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The ICEAA - IEEE APWC - EEIS Award is administered by the ICEAA Scientific Committee. In selecting the awardee, the factors considered by the panel were originality, clarity and timeliness of the paper. The ICEAA ?? IEEE APWC - EEIS 2012 Young Scientist Best Paper Award was awarded to Dr. Kynthia Stavrakakis for the paper "Fast parameter sweeps for the calculation of S-parameters in electromagnetic field simulations" co-authored by T. Wittig, W. Ackermann, and T. Weiland. The announcement and presentation of the award were made at the ICEAA ?? IEEE APWC - EEIS 2012 banquet on September 5, 2012, where the winner received a certificate and a prize of 8000 South African Rand donated by the ICEAA Organizing Committee.
