Abstract :
A facile mercury (II) ions absorbent was prepared by surface sol-gel process and functionalized monolayers treatment using filter paper as supports. The resulting functionalized monolayers on filter paper-silica gel composites supports remained the original complex morphology of filter paper and its filterable character, and the mercury (II) ions could bond with the thiol groups of functionalized monolayers to remove from waste-water easily.
