Abstract :
The modes of a cylindrical waveguide with a cross-section given by the "snowflake", or Koch island is numerically analyzed. It is shown that a waveguide with cross-section defined by fractal boundary, such as the Koch curve exhibits, at frequencies above the fundamental mode, localized modes.
