Abstract :
Background clutter is one of the major factors which degrade the accuracy in radar cross section (RCS) measurement. In this paper, an operationally and computationally simple technique is proposed for background and target signal separation, which is especially useful for low observable object tests at an outdoor test range where a metal pylon is used as the target support. Both numerical and experimental examples are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and usefulness of the proposed technique.
