Abstract :
A full-wave analysis of a multiple-cavity horn antenna is presented for the accurate and efficient computer-aided design of microwave or millimeter-wave radiating components. A rigorous method of mode matching is employed to study the radiation characteristics including the influence due to all excited higher order modes and mode conversions at the waveguide discontinuities. The method is verified by comparison with measured data for two design examples. One is the antenna with a highly shaped beam. The second example is the feed-horn that has been optimized with regard to pattern symmetry and achieves nearly identical E- and H- planes
