  • Abstract
The advent of information technology has created a plethora of media by which our students are amused and sometimes bemused! Television, pod-casting, gaming, MP3s, and cell phones make demands on our students´ attention, both inside and outside the classroom. How can educators compete when students are challenged and tempted from a multitude of directions? We fight fire with fire. Course, Interrupted is a method of delivering materials utilizing changes in pace, medium, and roles to keep students on their toes and intellectually engaged. Students watch, listen, read, act, and participate in other activities in order to more fully absorb the material. The benefits to students are obvious: faculty can incorporate relevant and current material, thus catching and maintaining the attention of the students. The continual interruptions ensure that students are engaged and attentive, and the varying media presentations accommodate visual, auditory or tactile/kinesthetic learners
