Abstract :
Future growth of mobile radio services depends critically on the availability of radio frequencies and the efficiency of managing them. This paper presents a microcomputer-based frequency assignment model to solve some assignment problems in the narrow bands allocated for mobile radio. The program´ s features and structure are described with emphasis on the data bases needed by the program and the propagation models used. The top-down modular structure of the program is stressed upon. Results of a real life case study is presented to demonstrate the validity of the program and to highlight some issues of spectrum management and frequency assignment.
