  • Abstract
Earthing network is one of the most important parts of substation as it protects personnel in SS and customers in LV grid from dangerous step and touch voltages caused by earth potential rise. Earthing is essential for electric supply system to ensure safety and proper operation. Important issue that arises in the design and implementation of earthing system is earth potential rise. Earth potential rise in SS connected long cable and overhead lines is specifically regarded in this paper. Calculation of earthing resistance in the SS 35/20 kV Hrvatska Kostajnica, earth potential rise are calculated and presented. Earthing calculation prior to and after implementation of partial compensation are given and calculation results were compared with measured values.
