Abstract
The presented twisted Yagi antennas has circular polarization and gain characteristics similar to or slightly better than the helix antenna, but it is constructed from unconnected parallel wire elements that are rotated with respect to one another along the axis of the antenna. It also does not require a ground plane, though it can be designed with one. This makes the twisted Yagi antenna a potentially attractive alternative to the helix antenna for some applications.
