Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. The results of the second experimental - stage of computational-experimental research into possibilities of ultrahigh magnetic field generation by compression of a thin-walled (1 mm) cylinder from a high-dense conductive material with a high yield strength by compression of the generator MC-1 megagauss magnetic field are presented. Compared with the computation are the results of several shots on two-cascade generator MC-1 with a cylinder from a tungsten alloy /spl sim/40 mm in diameter placed on its axis. In experiments magnetic field in the cylinder was measured by optical and inductive techniques, and X-ray images of the cylinder cross section was registered.
