  • Abstract
    In order to significantly improve the beam quality for wide pump stripes, we have fabricated and tested the first mid-IR angled-grating distributed feedback (a-DFB) lasers. A schematic of the α-DFB geometry is shown alongside the conventional Fabry-Perot configuration. Both the diffraction grating and the gain stripe are tilted at an angle (chosen to be 16") with respect to the facet normals
