Abstract :
In this paper, the harmonic characteristics of HVDC system under AC voltage distortion were studied. Through digital simulation and mathematical analysis, it was found that the HVDC system would produce kp±(m-2) and m order uncharacterized harmonics at AC side, and kp±(m-1) order uncharacterized harmonics at DC side under AC voltage distortion. Here p is the pulse number of the converter, m is the order of AC harmonic voltage and k is a natural number. In addition, the value of the uncharacterized DC voltage harmonics was thoroughly studied which can be used to estimate the uncharacterized DC voltage harmonics in real engineering
