Abstract :
In order to simplify the processing and handling of detector-tissue samples, during the developing of an autoradiography process used in BNCT, the authors here propose an alternative to conventional techniques. In this they employed: 1.-Thin Makrofol-E and polyvinyl chloride acetate foil as detector and tissue protector respectively. 2.-Two teflon rings to support the samples (detector-protector-tissue) where all the following steps can be carried on minimizing the sample handling. Those rings provide a mechanical support for the external cover of tissue during the etching attack and for the mounting of the glass slide during the microscope observation. 3.-A silicon sealing replacing the glycerol/gelatin used as tissue protector, thus decreasing the hardening time from 2 days at 4°C to 25 minutes at room temperature. 4.-A drop of fluorescein between the Makrofol E and the slide is included, in order to increase the track resolution in microscopy
