Abstract
In this paper, an effective integrative method that takes advantages of background subtraction and edge detection is proposed for vehicle detection and shadow rejection. Based on the method, vehicle counting, tracking, classification, and speed estimation for multi-lanes are achieved so that real-time traffic parameters can be obtained to describe the load of each lane
