Abstract
The aim of this paper is to determine the error probability in detecting a QPSK signal. The phase-locked loop (PLL) of first order is used in providing the synchronization reference signal extraction, which is assumed to be imperfect. The bit error probability is determined when the signal interference and Gaussian noise are applied to the input of the QPSK receiver. The interference is approximated by a sum of sine waves with constant amplitudes and uniformly distributed phases
