Abstract
The authors present a software copyright protection model based on information hiding concepts with a public key scheme. A number of schemes for information hiding have been proposed such as digital watermarking, fingerprinting and traitor tracing scheme. Among these schemes, the authors focus on traitor tracing schemes. They first introduce digital copyright protection schemes. The proposed model provides secure software installation and an illegal copying protection scheme based on an information hiding scheme. It also provides a software live-update scheme based on a traitor tracing scheme. They propose a new model which uses the traitor tracing scheme and an electronic legal license tracing scheme for copyright protection. The live-update scheme of the proposed model is based on the traitor tracing scheme and reliable multicast guarantees security and efficiency
