Abstract
This paper presents a computer aided model for predicting performance and brush commutation for small permanent magnet motors. The model consists of a set of flux linkage based differential equations. 2D finite elements are used for obtaining the magnetic and electric parameters of the system. The set of differential equations are solved by time stepping integration methods
