Abstract :
This paper extends a synchronisation algorithm (QML) devoted to phase and frequency estimation of short M-ary QAM radio bursts through AWGN channels to the case of multipath channels (MC). The algorithm is obtained by a simplification of the maximum likelihood approach. Results obtained are compared with the well known Cramer-Rao bound. A mixed modified Cramer Rao (MMCR) bound, able to take into consideration the information and the reference part of the radio burst is introduced
