Abstract
In this paper, the performance of an LMDS (local multipoint distribution service) system with parallel concatenated convolutional coding (PCCC, also called ´turbo coding´) is analyzed and simulated. The channel of an LMDS system is modeled as a Rician fading channel with strong Rician factor. The performance is evaluated in terms of codeword error probability. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the performance is significantly improved by employing the PCCC. The results in the paper can be applied to the radio modem design of an LMDS system
