Abstract
This article presents signal processing techniques for optical transceivers, including a discussion of optical channel impairments. Fiber equalization is covered including DSP-based detection and analog equalization for 10 Gb/s and beyond. The article concludes with an analysis of forward error correction for low-power high-performance applications
